Random Recent Photos

Just thought I'd include a post of all the miscellaneous pics of the cutie pie girls.  You can't help but smile when you're around them.  McKel is just hilarious, and Avril will melt your heart.  Love them as much as the sky, as they always say to me :)
McKel thinks she will be silly by trying out mommy's shades...

She is definitely silly!  They are on upside down :)

More playing time!  Let's get out the blankets!  Good for fort making, hiding under, cuddling, wrapping babies in... the possibilities are endless!

The kitchen floor is the perfect place to sit down and read storybooks, dontcha think?

Beautiful day out... lets go for a little ride!  Mom and Mike rode the bikes with the bike trailer to WalMart to do some shopping!

Let's go!
There's no such thing as too big of a marshmallow for Avril...
Movie time... good chance they are either watching Rango, or My Little Pony here :)
Here are some super cute videos of the girls at the playground by our house.  Mike was kind enough to watch them while mommy had to work.  Looks like they were dizzy with fun!

Fresh Homemade Pumpkin Pie!!

This was my first attempt at a garden, so I was pretty excited that it actually produced edible food!!  Here is one of our pumpkins that grew:
Orange and beautiful, and just right for making a pumpkin pie out of...
We promised Avril we would make pumpkin pie from the pumpkin we grew in our garden.  She was beyond excited!  I don't think she really understood how much work had to go in to making the pie.  By the time we finished it was bed time, but we let the girls still enjoy a delicious slice topped with whipped cream!
I think Avril thought you just put the pumpkin in the pie pan and cook it, turning it in to pie!  :)
Mike cut open the pumpkin and Avril had fun getting out the goop and seeds.  We then baked the seeds and saved some for growing in our garden next year!
Who knew pumpkin goop could be so much fun?!
Next we steamed the pumpkin slices in our steamer... for a long time
The girls drew pictures and watched Rango while we waited and waited for the pumpkins to be steamed.
Then we mixed all the ingredients together and poured the pumpkin pie mix in to the crust I'd made earlier.  Next we popped that baby in the oven!  And out came....
This beautiful pumpkin pie!
Lets add some whipped cream and devour!
McKel was on board with that... she ate every last crumb!
Avril especially loved the whipped cream topping :)
I was so proud of us for making that pie totally from scratch, with our very own home grown pumpkin!  How cool is that?  Definitely will be making more pumpkin pies, it was the most fantastic pumpkin pie I have ever tasted!

It's Electric Run

I have some super awesome cousins who are pretty gifted athletically.  Luckily, they still invite me to do fun races with them, even if I can't hurdle tall buildings like them.  Robert Crockett and his wife Kristen, invited us to do this fun run at Thanksgiving Point, called It's Electric!  It just so happened that the Bachelor was being filmed there that night.  We were hoping for some camera time but in a crowd of thousands, all lit up with glow sticks I don't think we made it on tv... who knows though, I haven't watched the show.
Here are the psychedelic photos from our Electric Run:

The starting line...where we did a lot of waiting... and practiced being quiet for the Bachelor arrival.
Lets get moving!

There were a LOT of people there!

They had some pretty sweet Electric course

Mike is sorry he didn't do the pose.

All done!

Time to go home and relieve the babysitter... Mike's mom was kind enough to watch the girls for us so we could go for our fun run.  We came home to sleeping babes :)  So nice!

Ina's Wedding

Mike and I were lucky enough to get to attend a beautiful wedding ceremony at the Riverwoods Reception Center in Logan.  Ina Olsen became Mrs. Ina Wells.  Ina and Ian  :)  It was one of the fanciest wedding ceremonies I'd ever been to.  Mike and I even bought matching outfits for the occasion.
It was a wee bit chilly out so Mike let me wear his jacket.  What a gentleman.

Gorgeous location with waterfalls, Logan river, beautiful flowers...

Princesses and Pirates

So I found tickets to this fun Disney Show at the Energy Solutions Arena.  It was all about princesses and pirates, so with two small girlies, I thought, perfect!  Perfect it was.  I had to rush over there in my work clothes since I worked at the bank that morning.  We made it just in time for the show.  The girls were mesmerized by all the bright lights and color.  Family fun.
Mike holding two girls who love him.

Best we could do with all four of us in the pic.

McKel is loving it... Mike's totally diggin it too :)

Avril runs up front to grab some flower petals that fell from the sky

We brought home quite the collection that she insisted we save.
