McKel Gets A New Haircut!

McKel wanted to get a cute, short, do! She was at her dad's house so I asked him to send a picture. I must say, she looks super adorable with the short cut :)
Sweet girls...

Golfing Day

Mike and Bret spent the day bonding at the golf course. I was not there, so I don't have much to say about it. But they sure are handsome boys, and I'm glad they got to spend some quality time together. Here are a few shots I stole from Mike's facebook, that show them enjoying a sunshiney day at the golf course.
Isn't that adorable?  A mama duck and her little followers...
Handsome boys!

Loving Summer Time!

I enrolled the girls in a Spanish summer class that took place at the teacher's home right by Avril's school.  The teacher is from Argentina and has 3 girls of her own.  The girls had a good time attending, and hopefully picked up a few Spanish words while there...
McKel and Avril after their Espanol class!  Too cute.
Later that day... we took another trip up the road to Red Butte Gardens.  The girls always beg to go there, and I don't mind at all.  It is just so beautiful.  We even came face to face with a cute little critter while there...
Mr. Bunny came out to play!
He let us get pretty darn close!
Here Avril creeps up to try to get a closer look at Mr. Bunny :)
A happy McKel (complete with cotton ball in ear from her ear infection)
Avril was just overjoyed to be at the garden :)
Love to see that smile!
Haha, McKel often does this cheesy grin for the camera :)
admiring the beauty in the gardens...
And now time for the goofy photos:
Someday they will get a kick out of these pics
Too funny!
One more...
And a few glamour shots of Avril after the silliness:
my sweetheart girl... the bunny is still hanging out behind her :)
Avril shows off her lovely fishtail braid
look how close to the bunny they are!
just taking a ride on a lizard...
I just thought this tree was super cool.  You can go underneath and it is a little room with a bench.  Someday maybe we can have one in our yard... wishful thinking!

Family Night

I found a fun family activity to do on Monday nights at Red Butte Gardens.  They have music and performances outside and you can bring a picnic and enjoy the show and sunshine outside.  The girls had an absolute blast.  Nana and Papa came down for a visit and got to join in on the fun.  The girls danced around and enjoyed lots of energy expenditures :)
Ready for the show!
McKel sprawls out on the green grass
Avril found a picturesque spot to sit and eat her treat
Mmmm!
Savoring every bite!
Sweet sisters enjoying nature!

Look at that cheesy grin!  So adorable...

Dirtybird

Saw an ad for this race and it appeared to be super fun!! Their marketing department did a great job. It said it had the largest waterslides, and was held up at Snowbird, promising gorgeous views and awesome trail runs. I invited my cuz, Robert, and his wife, Kristen, to join Mike and I for the run.

It was actually a huge disappointment. The downhills were treacherous and never let up...the gondola took you to the top, and then you had to run down the entire way, which my bleeding, aching toes were not fans of. I doubt we will be repeat participants in this run. Still, it was fun to be with awesome people, and some of the obstacles were actually pretty cool. Oh... and the waterslides did not work. The water was not working, so yeah... also VERY big bummer for this race.
Robert likes to make sure the photographers won't miss him... hence, the fluorescent Superman shirt

The irony is that it is called the Dirtybird, and as you can see, we are pretty clean at the end!

Shopping Spree!

There is a local store called Kid to Kid, that will collect from you all your outgrown clothes, and give you store credit to buy more kid clothes.  Its genius!  Only most of the time they don't like the clothes I bring in, so I am always disappointed by the $ amount I get back.  Oh well.  The girls were in need of some new clothes so we went a little crazy.  They kept telling me I was the best mom ever, for all the clothes I was piling in to the cart.  I even let Avril choose a dress up costume, and she chose an Elsa dress from Frozen.  She couldn't wait to try it on!
Anyway, we won't be needing to buy any clothes for awhile now, we are at full inventory!

Piles of new slightly used clothes!
You're welcome, girls!!  :)  And yes, I am the best mom ever...

The 4th of July!

One of my favorite holidays... mostly because it's in the middle of summer and I am a sunshine-loving girl!  I ventured up to Logan with the girls for some play-time with nana and papa.  We just played and played... I also brought some sparklers up thinking the girls would enjoy those, but McKel managed to burn her little finger on one, and Avril was excited, but also scared of them...
Here is McKel building a fence around her dinosaurs.  She loves to play with the toys at Grandma Joyce's
Avril snuggling with a giant princess gorilla...??
Avril enjoying all the My Little Pony's at Grandma Joyce's
superheroes climbing the stairs...
Definitely need some pool-time play on a hot day!
Avril chills in the shade
Hop on in!
This is the tent they made out of the jungle gym
we went for a walk/bike ride around the block and visited this rooster neighbor
McKel is just adorable in her little swimsuit!
Another adorable girl :)
just us girls!

Happy 4th!!  :)  Jared fixes Papa's computer in the background...
So glad we got to spend the holiday with the Logan fam.  The girls had a blast :)  We didn't stay up to watch the fireworks.  Mommy is too old to stay up that late, and was exhausted!
