Looking for fun things to do on our last California day, we found out that the Jelly Belly Factory was not too far from us, so we thought we'd go check it out and take a tour. I have never seen so much candy in my life! Crazy how many jelly beans (and other candies, I learned while there) that factory makes.
Jelly Belly factory, here we come!
we all got hats. Keenan mostly just wanted to eat his.
Inside the factory:
now that is a LOT of jelly beans!

Next stop was on Winnemucca again... then on to home! The bad news was that somehow I got a HORRIBLE infection in my upper leg/buttox area. I am not sure how it happened... just bad luck, I guess. I am thinking I had some sort of cut or break out and the muddy Spartan race water was able to get in with some nasty bacteria and cause a massive infection. It looked like I had a baseball in my leg and I started burning up with a fever. I could not sleep the whole night at the hotel and was in severe pain. I did not know if I should go to the hospital in Winnemucca, or try to make it all the way back to Salt Lake City. We ended up waiting, but I was sure suffering the whole way. It made for a not so pleasant trip home.
Still, Keenan loved playing at the hotel room, as usual:
and of course more fun in the water with daddy:
Once we got back to SLC, we went straight to the hospital and they ended up cutting open the infection and trying to drain it. This caused little if no relief. The antibiotics kicking in were what really helped. It was scary and one of the most painful things I've ever had happen to me... glad to be over that!
