FDPR 2015

The 2nd Annual First Dam Pancake Run went rather smoothly, and I would call it a success (even if I do say so myself).  Having the trailer with all the organized race supplies was a huge help.  It was much less chaotic.  Still a lot of work, but we were happy with the results.  Even my mom, who is not a runner, trained to do our run.  She finished and did great!

Everyone seemed to have a good time, as seen by the smiles in the pics :)

We had about the same turnout as last year, but are confident that the number will grow in the future, once word starts to spread.

There are of course, a lot of pictures, so I will let them speak for themselves:
The starting line in the tunnel... the IHOP pancake man did a great job interacting with people.
They're off!  Notice my dad near the front in blue... and my hubby directing the race!
A few more of the take-off, and some shots of an adorable little one with the Pancake Man
All smiles!
Balloon art!  People starting to cross the finish line...
Some enter the BLUE ZONE for a splash of color!
Our Blue Zone volunteers were certainly not stingy with the color throw!
More blue
Beautiful shot of the dam
even a double stroller made it through the trails!

smurfs!
We learn a little more each time we do the race.  Luckily, we were not fighting the wind as much with a slightly later start time.  I think everyone had a great time, which makes me proud and call it a success!  Now time to clean up and head out on a vacation, just me and my Mike... can't wait!
